FIREARMS A huge plus for the M4 PME is its trigger. As I mentioned before, the- re's absolutely no need to swap it out. It's simply excellent, striking a perfect balance between a smooth, enjoyable pull and reliable safety. The only thing you might need a moment to adjust to is the slightly wider-than-standard trigger shoe, which might feel a bit different for those used to other trigger types. But honestly, you'll get used to it after just one range session. Accuracy-wise, I plan to put it thro- ugh its paces with a variety of dif- ferent ammo types, using both a HWS sight and a magnifier. So far, I've only shot with a red dot, using S&B, GGG, and PMC 55-gra- in ammo. With this setup, I con- sistently achieved five-shot groups around 1.5 MOA. I'm confident that with better optics allowing for more precise aiming, I can shrink those groups down to a consistent 1.2- 1.3 MOA. Just a reminder, the stan- dard accuracy for a military carbine is in the 2-4 MOA range, so… Expect another story about the M4 PME down the line, once it's in its final configuration and has seen more rounds, including some dedi- cated accuracy testing. Initial im- pressions are fantastic – the rifle is well-made, nicely equipped (that darn carry handle aside), and nails that look like a military M4. It's sim- ple, rugged, a little rough around the edges, but it's got that undenia- ble cool factor. With a price tag around 1300 EUR (at the moment of writing), it's re- latively affordable when stacked up against other military M4 "clo- nes." Sure, there's the elusive CQ-A at but good luck finding one. It was here, then it vanished, and only the Chinese manufacturer knows when (or if) it will return, likely at a sli- ghtly higher price and possibly with different features. In my book, the PAC 15 M4 Classic (aka M4 PME) is a rifle well worth considering and definitely worth its price, especially compared to the competition. What's more, you can deck it out with cool, military-in- spired accessories and build a fan- tastic setup that lets you enjoy a near-military M4 experience. Sure, it won't be a perfect clone like the "early OEF" FN M4 we saw recently, but it will cost you three to four ti- mes less, look remarkably similar, and shoot only fractionally worse. So, if you're not a hardcore cloner with deep pockets but crave that "military-style" basic carbine, the PAC-15 from SVRN is definitely calling your name. M4 disassembled into basic components
