Stage 4: Little Bird on the Roof – Near Blackout Experience We had no idea what we were walking into on Stage 4, "Little Bird on the Roof." This was the one where, if your luck was truly abysmal, you could lose consciousness. The drill: kick the tire out from under your feet, and you are left hanging by your harness, the strap digging into your armpits, while engaging targets hundred meters out. It went smooth until a hang-up on a closer target. Miss, miss... six, seven, miss. Shift to a new target, hit. Back to the problematic one... two, three, BAM—finally, the steel rang. This was the moment where others reported tunnel vision and seeing spots. Afterwards, a short hop to the nine-hole for a few more steel targets, but remember: the damned 180 seconds The acoustics were unsettling: the sound wave would break on a shipping container behind the firing line, creating a sound eerily similar to a ricochet whistle. R.O. Marcin just met the weird noise with a sarcastic smirk. Mid-Match Refuel and Gear Talk After that set of thrills, we hit a technical break to recharge our batteries with some seriously tasty burgers served by the guys in black gloves. Time for a quick breather, a chat with other competitors about their runs, and of course, a lit- tle "gear-flex."
