Ergonomic: • Slide stop and takedown lever should act as a „gas pedal" for thumb support. • Chamfered slide bottom to prevent „slide bite." • Modular backstraps (3 sizes) for grip size adjustment. • High undercut to lower the bore axis and mitigate muzzle flip. • Front and rear slide serrations (crucial for optic users). • Tactile indexing points on the frame to guide proper grip. STAGE II: CONCEPTUAL SKETCHING We based dimensions on FB's internal data me- chanism documentations. Sketches evolved through three stylistic concepts. We focused heavily on slide geometry. The slide serration angles match the muzzle angle to reduce visual weight and prevent snagging—a critical feature for re-holstering a carry gun. STAGE III: 3D MODELING AND PHYSICAL VERIFICATION We merged two of the best concept sketches into CAD models. Physical mockups allowed us to verify grip angles, control reach, and manipu- lation ease. Key Corrections after 3D Analysis: • Refined grip angle relative to the bore axis. • Undercut of the trigger guard. • Added cutouts in the magwell for stripping stuck magazines. • Finalized backstrap shapes. • Deepened the thumb rest profile. • Adjusted slide stop lever thickness and placement. • Developed two variants of slide serrations style. • Enlarged and raised the magazine release button. • Overall reduction in dimensions compared to initial 3D prints. This finalized the conceptual phase. The project then moved to advanced prototyping by expe- rienced FB engineers, leading to the final pro- duction gun now on shelves. PODSUMOWANIE Studium przypadku projektu MPS FB Radom stanowi rzadki przykład kompleksowego podej- ścia do wzornictwa przemysłowego w przemy- śle zbrojeniowym, łączącego aspekty konstruk- cyjne, techniczne, ergonomiczne i estetyczne. FIREARMS
