APEX LINER SYSTEM The APEX Liner System is a key element that distinguishes the Caiman line from other ballistic helmets. APEX was designed not as a simple supplement to the shell, but as an advanced interface between the operator's head and the equipment plat- form, merging biomechanics with rigorous blunt impact protection requirements. APEX consists of three closely integrated components that can be configured based on user preference: @Impact Liner: Made of multi-section, high-density foam with high energy absorption. Unlike one-piece liners, APEX uses a segmented structure, allowing for better airflow and conforming to the anatomical curves of the skull. @Adjustable Pads: Memory foam pads covered with moisture-wicking and an- timicrobial material. These are available in various thicknesses, allowing for micro- -adjustments to the fit. @Straps and Headband: Another part of the APEX system is the dial-adjustment fit system. A key issue with helmets is „helmet dive" under the weight of night vi- sion goggles. APEX solves this by precisely tightening the band around the occipital region, which shifts the center of gravity and stabilizes the device on the visual axis without the need for excessive chin strap tightening. The adjustment straps are se- cured at four points and are fully adjustable. They feature a quick-release capability for emergencies via a metal buckle on either the right or left side. The Caiman is fully compatible with gas masks, though the use of a strap extender is recommended when wearing one. One of the most interesting features of the APEX system is its full compatibility with over-the-head hearing protection—the liner has special recesses that allow for comfortable wear of headphones, eliminating the „hot spots" that cause severe headaches after several hours of wear in traditio- nal helmets. APEX was designed for operations in extreme conditions—from arctic cold to desert heat. Air channels force airflow, reducing the temperature inside the hel- met. Most importantly, the APEX Liner is a protective element, tested for multi-hit impact in accordance with NIJ 0106.01 requirements. Galvion ensures that forces transmitted to the skull during impact drastically reduce the risk of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). www.fragoutmag.com
