@ HOW DOES IT SHOOT? Very pleasantly. While it's „GLOCK-style"—evolution, not revolution—the frame changes are truly notice- able. The grip is much more comfortable, and the collective changes allow for significantly better con- trol during firing. The modifications allowing for a hi- gher hand placement and the front thumb shelves are particularly appreciated. Due to the „rounding" of the grip, it fills the palm bet- ter, allowing the user to hold it more securely witho- ut the sensation of „voids" in the center of the palm experienced with the flatter grips of previous genera- tions. A very big plus goes to the integral beaver tail, which works great even for people with moderately sized hands who like to grip the gun high. In such ca- ses, it functions as an additional support point rather than just a guard, and it performs excellently. The RTF6 texture is definitively the best used to date. The early generations were slippery, and while Gen 3 was supposed to improve this, it didn't quite hit the mark—as evidenced by the popularity of stippling companies. The current solution provides a secure grip without being unpleasant, even when shooting without gloves. While it isn't the equivalent of grip tape, the security of the purchase is incomparably better than before. Thanks to the slide stop shrouds, it is harder to ac- cidentally engage them—a common issue in previo- us generations for shooters using a „high & tight" grip. Now, you actually have to make an effort to lock those levers. Regarding the slide serrations—do they work better? Probably, that's why they were made, but the Gen 5 ones were also good; the change here is subtle. www.fragoutmag.com
