TRZECIA LINIA - 3RD LINE the interior of compartment is lined with four broad sections of velcro loop where multiple types of modular pouches might be placed. the arc'teryx does not pro- vide or even produce the pockets and pouches but these are available from the blue Force gear, lbX tactical and nFm in multiple variants and sizes. the versatility, modularity and capability to fully configure the internals of the pack is its most interesting feature. user is able to create the pack tailored to his require- ments based on the task and equipment carried. maybe backpack with pouches sewn inside will be ounces lighter, but it won't be such versatile as khard is. with khard user gets single platform which might be configured to carry concealed weapon system (such as mp7 or mp5), eod or medical items, climbing gear, comms or surveillance equipment. it can serve as shooting apron too. in addition to the customizable main compartment, Arc'teryx LeAF khArd 45 backpack features four storage pockets: • external zippered pocket in the top of main flap - and readily available, with a relatively large capacity because it ends up under the logo embroidered on the outside. there is small plastic clip working as key holder; • stash pocket on the inside of the main flap, for smaller valuable items (better protected against the weather); • two zippered side pockets – designed to fit standard hydration bladders with up to 3 liters capacity. at the top of the each pocket there is a entry or "mouth" through which hydration tube might be routed. on both sides of the main chamber there are two compression straps made out of aa-55301 type iii 25.4 mm wide webbing straps with side-release itw nexus 1" classic sr buckles, used to compress backpack or to attach additional equipment. loose ends of straps are secured with velcro keepers. additional items such as clothing might be also attached via bungee cord matrix. as it was mentioned above, the pack lacks molle loops. to attach additional items the daisy chains might be used. there are two rows on top of the pack, and two rows on each side, rows on shoulder straps and on the top of main flap. the daisy chains can be used for hanging climbing equipment, carabineers, etc. off the pack. additional straps or bungee cord can be routed through them for lashing a sleeping pad or similar item. the last feature of the pack are two carrying handles placed on the sides for easy handling when pack is not worn. the inside of the backpack was solved as a conjunction of three solutions, such as the classic top-loader (as in large backpacks climb- clamshell. two long coiled ykk main zippers allow to open the following ways: part of the main flap (as in backpacks for bicycle couriers) including the opening of the sides only, access flap, causing the distribution of the side walls flat. in this used as improvised shooting apron, providing protection against ground. multiple access points into the pack's interior. of course, it is also left or right side of the backpack. compartment is lined with four broad sections of velcro loop where modular pouches might be placed. the arc'teryx does not provide pockets and pouches but these are available from the blue Force nFm in multiple variants and sizes.
