As a part of 7th Task Force (TF), Mounted Rifles work together with other
17 Wielkopolska Mechanized Brigade members. Scouts, engineers, antiaircraft and artillery
personnel improved their skills as well. One of the a main training element was 3 days FTX (Field
Training Exercise)
"FOX 2014" during which, participant's capabilities were verified. Soldiers
conducted offensive and defensive operations, river crossing operations, using ROSOMAK APCs.
Actions were supported by F16 pair from
32 Tactical Air Base located in Łask. Moreover battal-
ion decontamination set were used to secure CBRN incident. Furthermore troops conducted day /
night life fire training which include: personal weapon, APC armament and fire control exercises.
ATGM (Anti-Tank Guided Missile) SPIKE, target alteration, life fire exercise was FTX "FOX 2014"
capstone. When missile has been launched, senior
cpl Patryk Michalak – SPIKE operator,
made a decision. Within serious time limitation, he had to change missile trajectory and guided
it to the alternate objective. Additionally the new target was hid behind the hill. That was first,
such demanding, ATGM life fire exercise in Wielkopolska Brigade.
7th Mounted Rifle Battalion complete training in Żagań FTA and prepare for another one
– this time at the Drawsko Pomorskie FTA.
