Unlike many other NATO countries Turkey will keep the 7,62 mm x 51 as the standard ammunition. The new Milli Piyade Tüfegi MPT-76 developed by MKEK, standing for „national infantry rifle" follows the AR-10 design, but features a short stroke gas piston system. Weighing 4,2 kilograms, the weapon offers an accuracy of 4MOA. THE VINGPOS MORTAR WEAPON STATION was developed by Rheinmetall for the Norwegian army. It features a mount for the 81mm-mortar, a fire control unit and hydraulic recoil buffers. It can either be mounted in the troop com- partment of the CV90 infantry fighting vehicle or operated dismounted. Thanks to the fire control unit, target data from different sources can be used to open fire faster and with enhanced precision.
