What is important – there is no decrease in communication quality or in data transmission rate with increasing a distance between radio stations or terrain obstacles. When reaching a limiting coverage a user is informed by a relative signal, thanks to which he is aware that further distance increasing will result in a total loss of communication. The PERAD average power output is of 1W, and instantaneous power output may reach even 10W, which combined with applying the COFDM modulation (practically not applied in hand-held devices) and bandwidth of 1.2 MHz provides an appropriate coverage in the open country, and increases the perfor- mance of the radio in the built-up area. In the case of the latter and wooded areas, the maximum communi- cation coverage is about 700 meters. Using the PERAD one can maintain constant communication inside the buildings, even high-rise ones and with a complex construction structure – in contrast to the equipment used today there is no signal dropout within the declared communication coverage. The coverage may be also extended by using the UAV – in this way communication even up to 10 km may be obtained. The PERAD is such an "unobtrusive" device – its detection during broadcasting is possible from a distance less than 10 km. Furthermore, to improve safety of data communication and transmission, the PERAD has an inte- grated encryption. ADVANCED TECHNOLOGIES
