A radio station cooperates very well with the headsets (we have checked it with sets of Bowman type, Peltor Comtac XP and Peltor WS5 with Bluetooth system), providing very clear voice communication. cAMERA might be attached to the PERAD - devices of low resolution (320x240) and registering images with the speed of 25 fps are preferred. Such a set enables live video signal transmission (a delay is approximately 0.5 sec) with the quality that allows to recognise facial features or to read a text from the information boards on the display of the FONET system. The PERAD has relatively quick launch – it takes less than 5 seconds from turning power on to being ready to work while in the case of some devices used today it can take several or even or several dozen seconds. A housing of the PERAD is made from magnesium alloy, and the whole has dimensions of 180 mm x 79 mm x 35 mm and mass of 1.05 kilogram. The above mentioned values are not low, but just keep in mind that the AN/PRC-152 radio systems currently used by the US Army are heavier, larger and offer less capabilities. ADVANCED TECHNOLOGIES
