Battery charging is possible with connectors on the left side of the case, while external device slots are located on the right side. USB (5V 700mah) and DC (12V 800 mah) slots are available, with set of cables and adapters providing wide coverage. Both charging slot and external device slot are covered by valve flaps, providing water resistance (IP 67). It is worth mentioning that protection is available only in transport mode with closed flaps – if there is a need to use the device in water environment, aquastrap set is necessary. It consists of two USB cables with special enlarged plugs (connecting battery set with solar charger and second one dedicated for exter- nal devices) and an elastic shroud, used to secure them to kit case. This set provides water resistance standard compatible with IP 65 and allows to use the device in water environment (but without submerging it in the water) without short circuit fear. as far as safety is concerned – battery has implemented protection against opposite plates plug, over charging, short circuit, brownout and it has no memory effect. External devices are plugged in through the USB connector or 12V through one of 11 adapters – from mini and micro USB through Samsung connector, to iPad4 or devices powered by car lighter.
