HELMET SHELL Ops-Core FAST Maritime is based on the same helmet shell as used in FAST Ballistic High Cut helmet but it has higher side cut-outs for integration with communication headsets in ear zone. Side cuts are 16 mm or 0,62 inch higher than in standard version. The back piece of helmet shell has shape that will not interfere with backpack, back carried equipment (radio, breacher's kit) or ballistics vest protection collar. The overall head coverage of 630 cm2 or 97,7 square inches (size M/L) is less than standard MICH/ACH shaped helmet and just a bit less than in FAST Ballistic High Cut (669 cm2). The FAST family helmets are fully compatible with wide array of tactical accessories and will work better than standard shaped helmets with non-standard equipment. Together with signifi- cantly lower weight and more stable suspension system, they are far more comfortable, especially on long-term use. Helmet shell is constructed of ballistic Ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene Dyneema HB80 reinforced with carbon fiber. This composition provides high level of ballistic protection and allows for lower weight. Shell is currently available in three sizes – S/M, M/L and L/XL. The M/L shell has weight of 1148 grams. BALLISTIC & NON-BALLISTIC PROTECTION Due the custom requirements of customer, the FAST Maritime will not provide the same ballistic protection as FAST Ballistic High Cut. BFD is less than 25,4 mm/1 inch. www.fragoutmag.com
