Light Armor Applique Plate – from Velocity Systems was de- veloped for the FAST Maritime. SLAAP is Velcro-mounted front plate that defeats 7.62x39 Mild Steel Core at 2,400 +50fps (muzzle velocity) when worn In-conjunction With a Ballistic Helmet. In the front of each ARC rail there is BISS-NVD lanyard bungee that extend from the bottom front of the rail. These are intended to work with a variety of night vision devices. The lanyard is a short length of elastic bungee cord with a small split ring and snap hook on the end. When attached to the NVD or mount, they put tension on the device, taking out all of the vibration and rattle that is resident in NV mounts, and also provide a safety lanyard. FAST Maritime comes as a standard with pre-drilled three- -hole front and forged aluminum Skeleton Shroud with stain- less steel screws and ballistic T-nuts. It has no sharp edges or protrusions to snag, and is snag free for HALO/HAHO or static line use. It is shaped to conform to the curvature of the helmet shell, which ensures a stable platform. Skeleton Shroud is an update to the proven VAS Shroud design and enables to mount a huge spectrum of different night vision devices with proper mounts. Shroud might also serve as a platform for compatible headlights and cameras (like GoPro). FAST Maritime comes in Urban Tan solid matte paint finish with some sand added or in hydro-dipped (aka water- -transfer) Crye Precision Multicam camouflage pattern or desert digital camouflage pattern. On the sides, back and top there a segments of Velcro loop for ID's, callsigns and infrared IFF markers and strobes, such as dedicated S&S Precision Manta Strobe. Maritime might be fitted with additional ca- mouflage cover which will also provide some security against scratching and hitting the walls. It's worth to notice that first batches of DEVGRU helmets were sporting desert AOR1 hydro-dipped camouflage pattern, SEALs trident (or Budweiser) on the ARC rails and modified Velcro layout (now available as Maritime Velcro Kit A, whilst standard Velcro layout is known as Kit B). Another cool feature, unseen on the outside, was a pin-up girl sticker inside the helmet. Right now, the Maritimes are widely fielded to all the US SOCOM units. HEAD PROTECTION
