REPORT The 2014's Armed Forces Day was different in many ways from the past ones. Over 1200 Polish soldiers, 90 U.S. and Canadian soldiers, over 100 of vehicles and 60 aircraft were involved in military parade which took place in the center of Warsaw, capitol city of Poland. It is hard to compare Polish armed forces parade to its Paris or Moscow counterparts, but for the Central Eastern Europe it was significant. Visitors, bystanders and many of foreign tourists (peak of tourists season) had an opportunity to take a closer or even very close look into the military equipment and vehicles of Polish Armed Forces. Almost all of the equipment was also displayed on static display after the parade. Most of the current Polish Army land warfare equipment and vehicles was present: Leopard 2A5 main battle tanks, Rosomak IFV's, Krab (Crab) self-propelled howitzers, Dana self-propelled howitzers, up-armored HMMWV's from Land Forces and Special Operations Forces plus special forces operated Toyota Hilux and Mercedes G to mentioned the few most interesting. It might be questionable if such huge and expensive event is necessary, but huge number of visitors present during the parade and static display confirms that citizens demand such shows and for every few years this kind of military parade should happen.
