From 15 to 17 october ie Prague, czech rePublic this year's edition oF conFerence and exhibition concerning
armed Forces oF the Future has taken Place. this year, the event was slightly diFFerent From the Previous one.
First of all there was a name change – originally the meet concentrated on the "future soldier" concept and as a result showcased
the numerous equipment programs from all over the world. Some of these programs have been completed, some have been
modified and some have been suspended as the time went by, resulting in the ever decreasing number of showpieces at the ex-
hibition floor. As a result the exhibition had to wider its scope, from the individual future soldier systems to a wide variety of future
capabilities for armed forces as a whole.
This wide scope as well as the gradual fulfillment of arms procurement projects in various countries resulted in a decreasing at-
tractiveness to the exhibitors. To make things even more complicated, for the last two editions, the "Future Soldier" conference has
been separated from the exposition and moved to an altogether different country. Last year's exposition was located in Prague and
conference in Madrid. It appeared to be the nail in the event's coffin which started to decay. Luckily this time around the organizers
revised their ideas and prepared the whole event in Prague.
