INTERVIEW
ŁP: So I understand that common beer meetings were re-
commended.
KS: We had not enough time. However several times I met
with the British contingent commander during the leisure
time. That supports our job relations – our cooperation was
truly very good.
ŁP: Did you, as a part of cooperation, invite local community
to the base?
KS: Yes. As a part of the civil – military cooperation, we have
opened our camp up for the tours, which were arranged
with the Lithuanians. All together our contingent was visi-
ted by 35 tours from schools, institutions, the parliament or
press. As Polish ambassador to Lithuania Jarosław Czubiński
has said it had great influence for improving our country's
image among the Lithuanian public.
ŁP: Besides short distance did you fill your separation from
home?
KS: Lithuania is not far from Poland. It was vacation time
so families had an opportunity to visit soldiers. However
4 month it is quite a long time so it was hard to cope.
Thank you for your time
