"NFM is like Yeti – many has heard of it, somebody has seen something, but nearly nobody has it" – this statement is very close to the truth. It is due to an attitude of the Norwegian company exclusively focused on the professional counterpart and large government tenders. An individual customer, has a very limited possibilities of acquiring the NFM Group equipment or even become familiar with them. At the same time, an R&D department works rather intensively what results in new projects and upgrades of the already available equipment. You cannot neither forget about prime partners of the NFM Group - Ops-Core and Polartec LLC that also introduce novelties to their offers what consequently makes the NFM product portfolio more attractive. A conference, in its general scheme, brought closer to the invited guests the company plans for 2015 related to changes in the product portfolio and applying new technologies. One of the lectures was devoted to the actions of the Polartec LLC company and textiles made by it which are widely used by the NFM Group in the clothing manufacturing, with a particular regard to their fire retardant or FR in short varieties. Polartec LLC is first of all famous for knitwear used in the outdoor clothing like Polartec fleece, but one should remember that it delivers fabrics also for army from more than 100 years (a company, previously as Malden Mills has been a supplier of the wool knitwear for the United States Armed Forces from 1906). The NFM Group uses in its products FR fabrics, soft shells, and lately even hard shell laminates with the NeoShell® airpermeable membrane in NFM All Weather sets are made from it) developed by Polartec LLC. During a presentation it was also mentioned about the most recent patented technology - Polartec Alpha synthetic insulation developed for the needs of the US SOCOM Protective Combat Uniform program. The next presentation concerned the Ops- Core company which European rep- resentative is the NFM Group. It was accompanied by the mini-exhibition of the selected models. Besides, already known helmets and crash helmets from the FAST series (including Ops-Core FAST Maritime – FRAG OUT! #01) were shown, regre- tfully – only during a presentation – less known models, like www.fragoutmag.com
