The opening of the market caused problems with a competition, but it also had a positive side – easier access to modern components and technologies. It resulted in updating the RADMOR products and their manufacturing technologies. Introducing to the equipment systems of the microprocessor synthesis and controlling enabled achieving parameters and exploitation possibilities. Such a significant progress would not be possible without a change in the manufacturing technology. In years 1991-1992 were successively bought machines which allowed for introduction of the surface mount technology The first device made using this technology was RADMOR 31011 handheld radio. The ground-breaking actions did not miss either a production for the market. According to the rule that one should "learn from the masters" were established cooperation contacts with such potentates as PHILIPS or DOLBY. The effect of the cooperation was visible in the form of appearing of the new hi-fi audio, complimented by modern loudspeakers. These sets for the next few years were significant items on the market of this equipment. Surviving of the first, the most difficult times of inflow of the competitive goods, despite introduced changes and improvements, could not be the only one warranty of the long-term success. A market of the radio telephone customers was shortening as a result of introducing by a competition devices working in the 300 MHz – the band range which thanks to its "distinctness" from the world standards was for some time an exclusive domain of the plant. One did not use either, due to the delayed decisions, a common, but short fascination with devices working within the CB band. It became necessary to look for a new stabile group of the customers. Using a capital of the large experiences in manufacturing of the professional equipment, also for the armed forces, a company management succeed in establishing a long-term cooperation with the Ministry of Defense. In 1996 was developed a handheld military radi. Its technical and exploration qualities decided about its introduction to the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland. A development strategy of the enterprise adopted at the beginning of the 1990s anticipated its privatization and finding a strategic partner which will ensure both a better access to the modern technology, and financial resources necessary for its implementation. The goals were realized. According to the notary's deed of 25 August, 1994 contemporary Ministry of Industry and Trade transformed a company into the sole-shareholder company of the State Treasury what ended the first stage of the commercialization. However, attempts made to acquire a foreign partner were finished by concluding a long-term licencing agreement with the French THOMSON-CSF company (currently THALES). In the first stage it comprises supplies of the up-to-date combat radio station for the Polish Army. The effects of this decision, as it turned out beneficial for the plant, shaped for the next ten-year period its fundamental manufacturing profile and established its market position as a domestic leader in the manufacturing of the military communication equipment. The solutions applied in this industry also had a beneficial impact on the technical level of the civilian mobile radio communication equipment. It eliminated partly from the market by the new technical possibilities, as mobile phones, continued to remain an applicable standard in certain branches. And in this very market segment a plant offer were comparable, sometimes even surpassed values of other manufacturers. The end of the 1990s was a period when many changes were introduced to the firm. One not only took investment activities, ensuring a high quality of the offered equipment, but only organizational ones which aimed at providing continually better and effective customer service. Thanks to them RADMOR entered the 21st century as an enterprise which was modern in its every aspect. www.fragoutmag.com
