Generally,
it can be the end of the design
description, but there are still two features
which distinguish Khard 60 from its smaller
brothers. The most obvious is a total height of
the transport chamber which allows to carry
AR-15 carbine with a 10" or 14.5" barrel. If there
is a need to transport a longer weapon unit or
silenced, the drop-down extension stitched
in the bottom of the main chamber might be
openned, extending its total length. It enables
to carry weapon with a total length of 88 cm.
Shown on the picture the Oberland Arms OA10
carbine with 16.75" barrel length extrudes a little
bit in the upper part of the transport chamber.
An access to the interior is solved in the same
way as in the Khard 30 and Khard 45 models
– it is a connection of the three most common
solutions: a classic top loader (as in the large
mountaineering backpacks), releasing of the
access locks and an access to the chamber in
t h e
form clam shell (as in the
medical backpacks). Thanks to applying two
long, YKK zippers which begin in the upper part
of the pack, it is possible to open in three ways:
only the upper part of the lid (as in the
backpacks for the bike carriers);
spreading a lid in half, including opening
only by sides;
full opening apart an access lid, what
also makes side walls to be laid down flat. It
as an improvised shooting apron ensuring a
protection against a contact with the ground.
Pack might be opened on one side only too.
An interior of the transport chamber is lined
with four wide sections of the Velcro® loop for
additional after market pouches attachment.
Apart from a possibility to customize an interior,
the Arc'teryx LEAF Khard 60 pack has four
integrated pockets:
