PASGT body armor vest. The body armor with frag rated Dupont Kevlar aramid ballistic inserts – actually it was fragmentation only resistant vest. In som. PASGT vests were only made in Woodland camouflage pattern and the desert camouflage pattern covers were deployed but due the cover's design and its clumsy attachment system it was mostly ditched behind. ITLBV Individual Tactical Load Bearing Vest, sometimes known as LBV-88. Part of the Individual Infantry Fighting System introduced in 1988 but only in limited numbers so it was not popular during the Desert Storm. Made out of ballistic nylon in Woodland camouflage pattern it had four magazine pouches for six 30 round M-16 magazines and two pouches for frag grenades. Pictured is second variant (known as first generation) without attachment straps for CFP90 patrol pack. Used mostly with ALICE parts. To the belt attached are M9 pistol double magazine pouch, 1qt canteen with cover, field pack, first aid kit, another 1qt canteen with cover andUM84 M9 pistol holster with thumb strap system in place of standard flap plus thigh extender. M7 bayonet with M8A1 sheath – the standard US Army and USMC bayonet for M-16 assault rifles family. www.fragoutmag.com
