There's a solid full-length 1913-rail on top of the receiver with a set of mechanic sight attached as a standard. These sights do offer
two sighting options: if folded they are open sights, with a windage-adjustable notch. When raised, they turn into fully-adjustable
peep sights with a trapezoid front sight.
Field stripping of MP7:
- detach the magazine, clear weapon, check chamber and de-cock (dry shoot);
- take the two mounting pins securing the receiver plug with stock assembly;
- slide out the receiver plug with stock, moving parts and return spring assembly;
- detach the receiver front cover;
- detach the bolt and firing pin from the bolt-carrier.
The HK MP7A1 only looks easy and straight-forward:
in reality the parts count comes to astonishing for such
a small weapon 112 pieces.
