If you have any optics on your rifle, the
SchleTec cleaning kit gets you covered with
a bottle of aptly called Optic Cleaner. When
sprayed onto the lenses, it forms a foam that
you can wipe with a lens cloth and you have
clean lenses with no smudges or scratches
(at least – no new ones). The compound is
safe for the plastics, coatings or adhesives
present in optical devices.
I was delighted with my SchleTec kit – so
much so, that the cleaning session didn't
concluded with my own AK, but I got so
carried on, that I used almost all of it, while
cleaning four AKs, two ARs and then several
pistols. The compounds do as advertized,
the cleaning gets almost labor-free – but it
takes some time to get it right and thoroughly.
