TRAINING SQUAD and DEFENDU companies came across with expectation and create training programs dedicated for potential security officers in high risk zones. Not only former soldiers or police officers have proper qualification for this kind of job (sometimes they are even not predestined to this tasks) – but also private sector is full of perfect candidates for this profession. The PMC training which I have mentioned at the beginning, was focused on personal security detail in high risk environment during both dismounted and mounted operations in the convoy. The students took part in the group and individual situational trainings where they conducted missions according to planned scenario. Training purpose was to solidify primary and secondary weapon drills as well to react during attack against VIP drills. On two training locations, eight hours a day, in shifting weather conditions, also after the darkness, students practiced the VIP escort. During the training course, instructors engaged OPFOR and even ISR assets, which on modern battlefield plays crucial role and assist during special and security operations planning process. Drones, used during the exercise, were to provide students with situational awareness concerning UAV capabilities in security operations. In the final stage, students in teams had to push forward through the labyrinth of rooms and lines saturated with IEDs and evacuate VIP from ambush zone to safety. The instructors ensured exercise reality and effectively made the task harder to complete by putting smoke into the cars, using distraction devices, putting explosives in rooms and elimination members of the team with fake wounds – medics had their hands full. Another task was simulated convoy operation – the purpose was to train different courses of action during the ambush: leaving vehicles on the approach, in the vehicles and fighting its way to the temporary safety area. The course was not (and was never supposed to be) training which prepare the students to conduct every single personal security detail operation – this is a very wide subject that requires several months or even years of training and experience gathering. The purpose was to provide solid basics to reach further "initiation levels", consequently, some actions became habits and the work is relatively safe. This mission has been completed. www.fragoutmag.com
