10 minutes. Just after five minutes the water,
which has had initially 5°C has been warmed
up to 82°C!
A quick calculation and we already know that
one bottle of the fuel (0.25 litre) should enable
boiling about 1.5 litre of cold (even very) water.
In the case of using a set in the room bringing
to boiling 0.5 litre water takes only 4 minutes!
Then I have tested a solid fuel – two cubes with
a little top has filled a stove tray. After five minu-
tes the water temperature has been only 70°C,
and after eight minutes and brining the water
to the temperature of 79°C a fuel has run out…
The second test has been carried out home,
with the same amount of the fuel (two cubes),
an air temperature of 23°C, a water tempera-
ture – 20°C. After ignition of the fuel the water
temperature grows in the rapid manner, and the
cubes burn with a clear, high blue flame – there
has not been such an effect in the open air.
Water boils when eight in the morning strikes,
the fuel burns still for the following nearly two.
Moreover, flaming cubes secrete more detec-
table scent than the gel, but none of the
The CompeTiTion
The same amount of the flaming alcohol in the
gel (from the military sets) already after five mi-
nutes begins to die down and has any chan-
ces to boil 0.5 litre of water. The different grill
kindling drop out first – one should use even a
triple amounts of them. Fulfilling a tray with the
small hexamine pastilles (8 pieces) enables to
boil 1litre of the icy cold water.
If we find ourselves in the critical situation and
we lack the fuel, one can burn on this stove with
the wooden splints, and although it requires
adding to the fire many times, but we have a
quite safe fire with a grill for the mug.
