What do we do? George Lucas gave his consent to create the 501st Legion, and also its sister organisation – the Rebel Legion (associating persons in the costumes of the positive characters), but under the certain conditions. The members of the legions are allowed to use costumes which are registered trademarks of Lucas, however in return they must fulfil several requirements. So, the legions function on the basis of: a charitable work of the members (visits in the orphanages, hospitals or educational facilities), supporting local communities, and also promoting the Star War brand and an idea of costume reconstruction. Therefore the legionnaires not only realise themselves in their passion, but also have an opportunity to do something good for the other fans, in particular the younger ones who lacked a legendary Power. An activity of this type is also provided in our country. The Polish Garrison supports with its actions the WOSP Charity from many years, and also cooperates with the "I have a dream" Foundation. Moreover, the members of the Polish division of the 501st Legion take part in the conventions, festivals and rallies of the fantasy or SF lovers. There are frequently more than 30 event of this type per year so the departures are in average every two weeks. Besides presenting themselves in the costumes the legionnaires also often prepare the thematic lectures dealing not only with the dresses, but also the entire universe of the Star Wars. Additionally, they create happenings and reconstruct the replicas of the props from the well-known movies: dioramas, armour or models of the vehicles in the different scales. REENACTING
