On 12th January 2015 Polish Military Contingent ORLIK SIX
started its tour of duty as a part of 37th deployment in NATO
Balitc Air Policing. For another few months, over a hundred of
Polish airmen were deployed to Šiauliai in Lithuania.
Polish task force under command of LTC Piotr Iwaszko consist
of nine fighter pilots and 116 ground crew soldiers. Some of
them already had been at Lithuania in 2006 as a part of ORLIK
ONE and later as a part of ORLIK THREE. Polish soldiers are serv-
ing together with Italians and perform duties in week to week
rotations. Units was placed in portakabins and fighter jets are
kept in conditioned field tents.
