The next noticeable feature of the HS Produkt XDM pistol are two
indicators which inform a shooter striker status and if there is a
cartridge in the chamber. It allows for an easy control of the gun
at any moment. I consider it as a great advantage of the XDM and
I know, together with a growing awareness of the shooters and
they appreciate such elements in their pistons.
I have written about checking up a weapon status at any moment
– it is extremely significant with more extended trainings or an
everyday carrying a weapon. Not enough that a striker status
is visible in the discreet, but visible manner, straight in front of
the shooter eyes, slightly under the rear sight, it is additionally
tactile under the finger. It allows to check if a striker is cocked
in total darkness and in the discreet way without drawing a gun
from holster. Do not ask me what is a reason to inspect a striker
tension in your own pistol. Certainly, it might be useful in the gun
belonging to shooting club and available for the people who come
to play but I had no occasion or a reason to check up this indicator.
Still, there is such a possibility.
