So, here we go! During the factory tests the AMPV travelled more than 25 000 km, and not only by the European roads, but also on the Artic areas or on the Chilean deserts. We cannot say that "we have tested the AMPV", but that we had only an opportunity to familiarize our- selves very broadly with this vehicle during short test drive. First thing we should admit that it is comforta- ble – inside a hull there is rather plenty of room for each member of the crew to travel under the decent conditions (independently on the vehicle configu- ration). All crew members have their own seat with a headrest and a holder for a personal weapon. The seats are suspended on the structural ceiling of the passenger compartment in order to enhance protec- tion against mines. Ultimately, they will be different that in the demo vehicle – they will gain different backs (not filled in the loin area due to the need to ensure a comfort for the fully equipped soldiers). A seat covers will be also changed – flame retardant fa- bric will be used. Each member of the crew has the 4-point seat belts, which after tightening hold very stable. A driver has clear control panel and ergono- mically distributed controlling elements. He can also adjust a steering wheel position and in order to get in and get out in the full equipment he can decline forward. A driver's position is rather comfortable – the vehicle can be handled without any problems, inclu- ding an equipment such as a body armor vest and a helmet (we checked it out).
