The Olaes® Modular Bandage A dressing which is also one of the most popular personal dressings is equipped with additional elements which increase its effectivity. Also in this case a significant role plays an issue of providing a training of the owner with regard to applying it during operations. The dressing is more intuitive than a former one due to an integration of a pad with an elastic bandage without additional pressure applicators/ grommets. There is a plastic cup permanently fixed to the pad on its upper surface which can be used also for shielding an eye/an eye socket. It can be used for an inspection of the wound site, too (we check up if a dressing soaks). In its inner part one may find elements which enable performing supplementary rescue operations which aim at addressing hemorrhage or penetrating injuries of a thorax or an abdomen. In the pocket of the dressing is placed a gauze dedicated for unpacking a wound and a foil which can be used even as a protection of a penetrating wound of the thorax. In the Olaes® are also applied solutions which prevent inadvertent unrolling. The Velcro® 'Control' strips stitched across a bandage not only unable an accidental unravelling of the roll, but additionally maintain a tension of the performed wrappings. The dressings comes in two sizes: 4" and 6". Analogically, as the Israeli bandage – the Olaes® has its larger brother. It is a Blast® Bandage which was designed to provide an ability to dress injuries of the large body surfaces, traumatic amputations or burns. It can be also used for covering wound sites of the abdominal integuments. This large dressing also has in its pocket a foil which is located in the connection of a dressing and a bandage. The foil can be applied in the case of the penetrating wounds of the thorax. Instructions for use: Depending on the kind of injuries it can be used in two manners: 1) in the event of wounds which do not require using additional dressing materials – we place a pad to the wound site and we perform wrappings, making effort to make them rather equal and wide. It will ensure a proper tension
