Its star Was an eagle V, WhIch Is One Of the cOMPetItOrs In the tender fOr MultI-PurPOse VehIcle Intended fOr the sPecIal OPeratIOns fOrces (WPWs), PreVIO- usly knOWn as the Pegsaus (POlIsh Pegaz) PrOgraM. a histor y of the eaGle multi-purpose armored vehicles star ted in 1996 when eaGle i was developed using elements of the popular humvee (it externally resembled a "a more raw-hewn" version of the hmmw V.) Then the eaGle ii and eaGle iii were made as upgraded variants of the basic vehicle. i n 2003 the eaGle iV was developed in which chassis of the mowaG dUro was used. This variant was produced until 2012 (there were three versions marked the subsequent indexes - mk i – iii). in the meantime, in 2010 eaGle V on the same mowaG dUro chassis was developed. Both eaGle iV and V vehicles are already used in the militar y around the world: • 495 eaGle iV and 176 eaGle V are used by German Bundeswehr (plus another 10 vehicles are used by the German police). • Switzerland armed forces have 449 eaGles in i, ii and iii versions and 4 vehicles in eod version. • 36 eaGle i and 85 eaGle iV vehicles are in ser vice with royal danish army. 200 Bundeswehr eaGles vehicles were used during operations in afghanistan where they in total travelled a distance more than a million k ilometers and acquired positive feedback , among others due to a fact that they were characterized by a ver y high reliability – they achieved an operational readiness at the level of 92%. The vehicle presented in Poland will be one of the competitors in the proceedings aimed at choosing a vehicle for special operations forces, and if occurs like that, it will be "Polonised" by adding an equipment according to specific Polish Sof requirements (probably it will be armed with remote controlled weapon station manufactured in Poland), and in the process of adopting to the Polish requirements and providing additional equipment will be involved rosomak S.a. www.fragoutmag.com
