it with 1990's „navy seals" action movie where Famous „light FiFt y" was used By the
„god" – sniper with m82a1 Fit ted with thermal sight killing Bad guys hiding Behind
the walls. But Barret t is delivering more sniper weapon systems than just m82 and
its variants. the latest product oF the american company is the mrad multi-role
adaptive riFle.
The bolt-action repeater Barrett MRAD sniper rifle was
designed to meet requirements of the US SOCOM Precision Sniper
Rifle (aka SOCOM PSR) competition. For the first time it was
presented during the SHOT Show 2011 and in 2012 it was named
the Rifle of the Year by the U.S. National Rifle Association.
SMRAD main feature is "adaptivity" to variety of specific user
needs and sniper roles. The rifle is multi-caliber sniper platform
where barrels might be easily changed for different calibers
without armorer's tools.
Barrett MRAD is available in three calibers:
• .300 Win Mag with 24" (62 cm) 1/9,35 twist barrel,
• .308 Win with 17" (43 cm) and 22" (56 cm) 1/10 twist barrels,
• .338 Lapua Magnum with 20" (51 cm), 24" (62 cm)
or 26" (66 cm) 1/10 twist barrels.
