LONG DISTANCE
The next round of tests was performed
at a slightly longer distances, from 100
up to 300 m. Theoretically, pursuant
to the ballistics and a sight calibration,
SS109 5.56x45 round from M-4 assault
rifle has a maximum point of impact
at a distance of 500/600 m. However,
both an influence of the atmospheric
conditions, and a shooter skills plays
here a significant role, whereby at
such a long distance one can really
assume advantages of the sight.
First, it took us a while re-zeroing the
CKD-1 – again appeared problems
with the tuning knobs, which were
mentioned before. Nevertheless,
I managed to adjust the sight relatively
quickly and confirm zero on the 100,
200 and 300 meters distance,
While having a zeroed sight, I was able
to transfer very quickly from one target
to another, and making corrections
was trivial. We were shooting in a
group of three shooters – anyone
of us is not a precision shooter or
a marksman nevertheless we have
generally no problems with shooting
at the distances of 100, 200 and 300
meters. As the sight for infantry soldier,
the CKD-1 is really good – probably
nobody will have any problems with
hitting to the man silhouette from a
distance of 300 meters, since even
those who shot a little bit without
any problem with hitting practically
in each shot in 30 height metal target
at a distance of 300 meters. We also
shot to the shooting targets, and the
results can be seen and the attached
images.
To sum up – The CKD-1 optical sight
is a really good equipment which
admittedly requires improving
some important details, but with a
great potential and offering great
possibilities.
