Dassault Rafales), Saudi Arabia (the Eurofighter Typhoon and the Boeing F-15SA Strike Eagle), Oman (the Lockheed Martin F-16C/D Fighting Falcon and the Eurofighter Typhoon) or even Egypt (at first the American F-16C/D Fight- ing Falcon, and nowadays the Dassault Rafal aircrafts and an announced contract for the MiG-35). How can it be explained? First and foremost, it is determined by available funds and a desire to satisfy main global allies – the United States of America and the Europe- an partners. Moreover, a part of rules in the countries of this region analyzed results of the events of the Arab Spring of Nations when the United States reduced its military assistance to Egypt and put an embargo on the supplies of the equipment which has been already or- dered. Furthermore, the Americans reduced also possibilities of the independent usage of the delivered weapon to the fight with the Is- lamists – at the beginning of the current year Egypt or the United Araba Emirates used for attacks at the targets in Libya (under a control of the Islamic State) a non-American armor or it was used without a consent of Washington (the Egyptians). It shows, at the same time, how the authorities from the Middle East re- gion must prevaricate in order to ensure a peace in the country (frequently governed by the strong arm). The decision which will be made in Kuwait are exceptionally significant for both designs. It is associated with a shrinking portfolio of orders – as it is shown even by current French expe- riences, often acquiring a contract for selling brand new multiple purpose combat aircrafts is a long-term issue which involves the high- est government authorities. The Super Hornet and the Typhoon will again many a time, in the current decade, conduct marketing bat- tles for the subsequent orders – in Denmark, Belgium, Finland, Canada. If Kuwait really de- cides for purchasing both of them, it will be also an excellent occasion to a further analy- sis of the exploitation experiences those two machines of 4.5 generation. www.fragoutmag.com
