ADVANCED TECHNOLOGIES The VBS3 system is widely used in tactical simulation where representation of a soldier or a unit of equipment on the battlefield is essential. Bohemia Interactive Simulations (the Polish branch of which has been located in Warsaw since 2013) delivers end user licences, development tools, and also provides IT services as well as training courses to the order of other entities. Main characteristics of the VBS3 environment have already been described in the trade press. As a reminder, the main components of the BIS offer consist of: - Virtual Battle Space 3 – end user basic license, containing a package of 15 maps (from USA, Central Europe, through Afghanistan), the system of artificial intelligence, tools for editing and preparing training scenarios, the system of record of final briefings of After Action Review, and a library of over 9,000 objects, avatars and vehicles, including most of the equipment used by the NATO Member States with the possibility to edit the base parameters. - Virtual Battle Space Developer Network – a development tool for integrators of the systems. It allows for interference in the VBS3 environment, commercial modification of the libraries, maps and AI algorithms. VBSDN enables to construct own products based on the base licence. - VBS FuSiON – a specialised programming tool for deep interference in the VBS3 environment at the level of the source libraries. It allows for any extension of the basic functionality, e.g. modification of simulation of physical phenomena, ballistics or a model of damage to vehicles. - VBS GateWaY – a new product which will replace LVC GAME.
