Finally something what makes Striker XT pants different from other combat pants – lack of the knee protection hard shell. UF PRO came with completely new design: the knee protection consists of two pockets – one for the soft insert which suppress the impacts and second one for the hard insert protecting knee from getting something stick into the joint. Above and beneath them there are pieces of stretch fabric by Shoeller for some flexibility and the pocket for the hard insert is covered with Cordura nylon. Such construction gives the user 4-level regulation of protection. You can use trousers without any inserts, only soft insert, only hard insert and both of the simultaneously. It allows the user to adjust the protection to tasks and missions. At the beginning, construction maybe disturbing because there is not a single way to position the knee protection, neither the height nor the circumference. While using the pants, even during intensive movement, everything stays in place and protects knee in every situation. As long as you have right size of trousers which is very important and determines effectiveness of the protection and comfort of wearing pants itself. For me it is unquestionable – in Crye Precision combat pants (AC aka Gen2) and copies of them the way of adjusting the knee protection slowly drove me crazy, especially while longer use. As seen on the photos, above the Shoeller Dynamic material there is a zipper covered with flap which gives access for the pocket for soft insert. Pocket itself is very big so it will hold nearly every insert. I was surprised by the size of the bought Flex-sas-tec inserts which fit perfectly. Hard inserts (I use those made by UF PRO) are placed in the Cordura covered pocket. T is secured with strong Velcro which is covered under the material (the part between knee protection and stretch material). Such combination CLOTHING & UNIFORMS
