On 25 August
2015, when the
US DoD announced the
Oskosh Defense with L-ATV
vehicle as a winner of as a part of the
JLTV (Joint Light Tactical Vehicle) program,
it seemed that this finally ended the proceedings,
which officially lasted for nine years and were
full of formal inconsistencies, to choose a
manufacturer that will replace HMMWV in th US
Army and the US Marine Corps. However, the outcome
was different, since the result of the final stage of tender
proceedings was subject to a protest by the two other participants.
In anticipation for the final conclusion of the JLTV program, it is
worthwhile to present a short history of the program and the potential winner,
the L-ATV.
