A history of the „Russian" pair of the Mistrals be- gan formally on 17th June 2011 when a contract between the DCNS shipbuilding corporation and the Russian OAO Rosoboroneksport company was concluded. From a very beginning a transaction has caused a numerous protests of the European Union and NATO partners which have escalated after an outbreak of the crisis in Ukraine – an annexation of Crimea resulted in putting an embargo on the Mistaral supply. The next months elapsed on developing an agreement which breaches a contract, as well as satisfies both parties. Finally, it was signed on 5th August. According to the available information it has in - cluded a refund of the advance payments made by the Russian Federation and costs borne in the country, with a total amount of 950 million EUR. Moreover, they planned to disassemble (to the end of September) devices manufac- tured by Russia – it is about communication and weapon systems. However, in the latter case Moscow gave its consent to re-export of the ships with the above mentioned elements to the following two countries: India and Egypt. Already then one talked that Paris has at its disposal potential customers who want to purchase not collected ships which included: Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Canada and Singapore. Moreover, the Russians speculat - ed that they can go to Brazil, Malesia, India or Vietnam. Finally, their owner will become Cai- ro what will be the next success of DNCS on this market.
