www.fragoutmag.com As we describe the slide it is worth to mention about the sights. Both a front sight, and a rear sight in the SPF 9-SF are fitted with green luminescent dots. The sight are explicit and legible, however quite large (clearly larger than in the Glock) – sometimes the front sight could cover the entire target. An additional issue is a shape of the rear sight – it is cut off towards the lock in such a way that it does not create any sharp edge (the same solution as in the HK P30), what significantly complicates or even makes it impossible to reload the weapon by one hand using the clothing (belt, equipment, holster, etc.) in the emergency situation. Indeed, it is not an issue for which many shooters will turn their attention, but if you decide to carry such the weapon as the EDC, it is worthwhile considering a change of the rear sight. A choice of the parts on the market is great so there is no problem. The issue which interest all of us the most is a trigger and its operation. Well, we will not write anything new above this what we wrote a half a year ago – if it comes to a pistol from the box in our mutual evaluation with regard to the trigger operation in the SPF 9-SF it has much more greater advantages than the non-tuned Glock and many other pistols. Assuredly, you can make an attempt to improve its mechanism and adjust it to your own needs (a factory sets for modifications are now hardly available), but in our opinion there is really no need to do that. The trigger known even from the Glock with a characteristic safety catch works very well during the quick and precise shooting. The first stage of pulling the trigger (selecting a backlash and releasing the safety) is smooth and relatively short, and a resistance is perceptible. The further pulling is also smooth, the resistance is properly adjusted (lower than in the factory Glock, but very explicit), and a moment of releasing of a firing pin not perceptible. It is the pistol of the EDC or duty class so we did not expect any professional trigger – it is neither a sports weapon, nor a professional one although it works successfully with regard to the precise shooting. A reset of the trigger is also perceptible, but rather specific – it lacks an aggressive, explicit click; instead of this you have a thump and slightly plastic sound. Despite this the trigger of the SFP9-SF should be evaluated very highly and it should be considered as a universal and not requiring a tuning.
