A lAunching ceremony of the "el-mellAh" sAiling ship wAs held in the remontowA shipbulding shipyArd on 7th november 2015. The official thousandth launch was simultaneously an example of a silent expert success – the ship will be transferred to the Algerian Navy. The end user of the tree-masted frigate will be the Algerian Naval Academy and her entering a ser- vice is foreseen for the end of the next year. Besides training tasks she will also represent a ship's flag in the world. "El-Mellah" was launched using a traditional method of the shipyard - the side launch. Her hull's is 110 meters long and 14.5 meters wide. The sail surface will be 3000 square meters what will enable to reach a maximum speed of 17 knots. There will be space on the board for 220 persons, including 120 cadets. Mr. Zygmunt Choren, designer of the vessel, is considered as one of the pre-eminent specialists in the sailing vessels construction. NAVAL FORCES
