and AAC Titan QD suppressor. As a part of PSR II kit, Leupold supplies the Mark 4 M5 sniper scope. Similar modular and multi-caliber sniper rifle sys- tems are currently available from mulltipe compa- nies. Just to mention the few: Accuracy International AXMC, Barrett MRAD, Beretta Sako TRG M10, Desert Tactical Arms SRSA1, FNH USA Ballista, Unique Alpine TPG3 and Voere X3. For extreme long-range targets, most of the NATO and allied countries use the .50BMG (12,7x99mm) caliber sniper or anti-materiel rifles such as Barrett M82/M95, Accuracy International AX50 or PGM Hecate Ammunition Basically every renowned manufacturer – CBC, Fiochi, Hornady, MEN ("Sniper Line"), Nammo, Lapua, Orbital ATK, RUAG Ammotech ("Swiss-P"), Winchester, to mention only a few – offers in- house developed ammunition especially de- signed for police and military sniper operations. Military ammunition has to meet more strict re- quirements with respect to temperature stabili- ty and water tightness. Moreover, the prevailing opinion still is that the use of ammunition with defined kinetic energy transfer as well as defor- mation and expanding bullets should remain re- served for police operations that, however, are mainly limited to shorter ranges of around 100 meters. In addition to the .338 also the .50BMG calibre comes into play for achieving longer ranges and enhanced effectiveness. On the EnforceTac 2015, MEN had presented a relevant precise ammuni- tion while on the DSEI 2015 RUAG Ammotec un- veiled its new API SX (Armour Piercing Incendiary SX) for the first time. Among the most wide- spread types of ammunition is still the Nammo NM 140MP/Raufoss MK211 multi-purpose rounds. This German sniper team is hardly to detect thanks to the artificial and natural camouflage around the shaggy ghillie suits – conspicuous are only the antenna and G36 rifle shoulder strap of the spotter (left).
