The Finnish Sako TRG 22 meets all the above mentioned requirements. Finland has great shooting traditions. This is a country in which, apart from perfect hunting and com- bat weapons (Sako/Tikka that currently be- longs to the Beretta Defense Technologies) also the worldwide regarded Lapua ammuni- tion is produced. My first experience with Sako was in 2000. It was the TRG 22 version deriving from TRG21, which had been produced since 1989... From the very beginning (meaning the end of 1980s) was designed in such a way, so that it could satisfy the needs of mil- itary users. I just fell in love with this rifle! However, to make the dream come true I had to wait several years... Sako TRG 22 has been produced since 1999. It is a repeating bolt-action sniper rifle, avail- able in .260 Rem and .308 Win. At the same time, Sako offers the model TRG-42 in .300 WinMag and .338LM. Until recently, TRG 22 and TRG42 were available in two colors of the chassis stock: black and green. Now it is also possible in the popular Desert Tan. The metal parts (barrel, receiver) may be fin- ished with oxidation, phosphating, or (at the customer's request) chrome plating. The chassis consists of two parts mount- ed to an aluminum rail. Receiver, into which a free-floating barrel (including the trigger mechanism with the trigger guard and lock) is bolted, is attached to the rail. It makes construction modular and allows to replace the damaged/worn elements, also in field conditions. FIREARMS
