MY SHADOW I have been using SP-01 Shadow for three years, main- ly for recreation and training at the shooting range, but also to participate in static shooting competitions. So far, I have put around 3000 rounds of ammo of vari- ous manufacturers through the barell. I have had no slightest issues with this weapon, although some of my friends complained about bursting springs of the trigger and the connector of the slide with the frame. I like the convenient distribution of weight, the thick- ness of the grip (despite many optional grip types to make the weapon fit in hand more properly), and the protruding „beaver tail", which efficiently protects the hand in case of a very high grip. The considerable weight of the weapon helps in fir- ing double taps and quick aiming at new targets. The access to enlarged manipulators (magazine eject button and latch, and the safety-lock) is convenient and rather for people with larger hands. That is why I advise testing before making a purchase. It should be highlighted that it is easy to find spare parts or a gun- smith who will find the design simple and will man- age to e.g. replace the springs or the polish it (which is forbidden in e.g. IPSC competitions!). My original trigger has the pull weight of about 1250 g and its performance may exceed the one of more expensive competitors. The reset is short and everything works lightly and smoothly. The factory set included three 18 round magazines, cleaning rod, and a modified hammer spring. The magazines fit loosely – they can be easily put in to the magwell and they smoothly fall out from it when you replace them, but do not cause malfunction and stay firmly in the grip. The accessories include a magwell to change magazines faster (its forbidden in the IPSC Production Division). The short accessory rail on the frame allows attaching e.g. tactical flashlights or la- ser pointers. www.fragoutmag.com
