Pistol GriP A small but important part. Picking the right grip can positively influence the trigger finger work and the general control over the gun. The standard AK grip (especially in the AK-74 version) is extremely narrow. Because of this, shooters with large hands may feel uncomfortable when manipulating the AK. As for the stocks, the market offers a bunch of various grips, including versions with adjustable thickness. What is really important is the angle of the grip. The narrower the angle between the grip and stock, the more tension in the wrist and the worse trigger control the shooter will get. The improved gas tube covers slightly block the heat, which enables to grab the rifle in a C-Clamp grip, if preferred. For example, Zhukov extended handguard is a good choice for practical sport shooting – it allows grabbing the rifle in the far front for better control and target transition.
