leads all the gas to the front. In order to achieve a kind of compromise, there are muzzle devices combining the two mentioned above. They keep the the low profile flash and reasonably manage the muzzle rise. A good example of the above type is the MANTIS muzzle device from the Bulgarian company VOKIL. I have recently received one piece for tests from the Polish distributor - sprzetmilitarny.pl and I have installed it on my favorite, mostly used AK. MANTIS helps in managing recoil (not as much as CERBER) and gently leads gases to the sides. You can still feel them when standing next to the shooter, but they are no longer distracting. MANTIS from VOKIL is a useful tactical and sport tool. During my practical shooting workshops, participants usually run drills together, side by side. VOKIL won't distract other shooters and will help in weapon manipulation. siGHt Mounts Although it has been shortly mentioned in the hand guard section, the aspect of sight mount is wery broad and important. Again, the market is full of constantly changing options. Companies design new AK optic mounts, as the rifle basically was not intended to use one. The optic can be mounted on a rail gas tube cover but this solution makes the sight picture really small - the optic window is far from the shooter's eye. The advantage of this type of mount is low sight line according the bore. On the market, you can find gas tubes with an integrated optic rail. This is a very comfortable solution, but it is not suitable for all optics - before choosing this option, consider the life span of the sight. The temperature of the gas tube is really high during shooting. Low quality optic can break in the blink of an eye, and the high quality one may simply last shorter than it should.
