First of all, a short reminder concerning the design and purpose of Jumpable Plate Carrier - its characteristic feature was the minimalist design that focused on the maximum cutting off weight by using lightweight, yet durable materials, as well as on actual removal of all parts deemed unnecessary. What was the reason for all of this? All of this was caused by the specific requirement of the user who needed a light plate carrier without additional features and bulk, which would not limit user's movements during HALO/ HAHO (it was supposed to be as small and light as possible after packing it up) and DA/ HR opeartions. The minimalism of the design forced also a minimalist approach towards the carried equipment and protection – set of ballistic plates, 3 or 6 mags for your primary, a radio with PTT, a hydration system on the back, 2–3 grenades. Of course someone may carry more equipment and even add side ballistic plates, but the thin arm parts and the skeletal cummerbund will significantly decrease the wearing cofort of such configuration. Jumpable Plate Carrier was created as a response to a specific demand, forced by particular types of operations and, despite its large popularity, it is not for everyone and for every purpose. For many customers, JPC was a solution that strongly limited the ability for carrying ammo and other stuff that goes BOOM!, while the complex Adaptive Vest System (AVS) with great possibilities concerning configuration and adjustments was too sophisticated and, let us be honest, too expensive. And sometimes even TOO complex. In order to satisfy the market (and end-users of course) need, Crye Precision decided to create an intermediate design based on the JPC concept, but with the possibility of tailoring it to the user's needs, using the ideas of AVS. JPC 2.0 That was the reason for building the lightweight JPC 2.0 plate carrier, but this abbreviation is no longer expanded, since the original requirements concerning www.fragoutmag.com
