with the previous models. Currently, ESS Influx has been offered in one set: a frame in Terrain Tan color, two lenses and a cleaning cloth, all closed in a case. Other color versions are to appear in the future. WhErE IS ThE bEEf? That is all for the technical point of view. But what about the practical aspect of ESS Influx goggles? They are convenient, provide good field of view and, what is important, are very lightwight. You just do not feel them on your head. And what about fogging, the major problem of ballistic goggles? First of all, we need to take into consideration three aspects: the environment we operate in, the nature of operations, and the individual features of the user. Those factor greatly influence the accuracy of solutions preventing from fogging up. Fogging during great physical activities, especially on hot or cold days and humid weather conditions is just inevitable. Thanks to the ESS Protection Coating protection coating, the fog quickly disappears from lenses, at least at the beginning of the usage, since the coating needs replacing after some time (which means replacing the lens with a new one). Do they fog up? Yes – in case of excessive physical activity, during a dynamic training situation in killing house concerning the usage of flashbangs and smokes, the goggles set to the closed mode started fogging up after some time. Opening the airflow gaps was out of the question under such conditions, since the amount of dust in the rooms would cause it to get into the goggles. During fast rides onboard open-top vehicle, when the AVS were closed, fogging did not occur. However opening AVS allowed removal of fogging for a long time, regardless the performed actions – running and gunning from dynamically changed stances at a closed shooting www.fragoutmag.com
