A stylization of the car and whether it can please or not is only a subjective feeling. In our opinion the previous version of this car missed its expressive- ness and interesting stylistic elements, the whole was a little bit two-dimensional as a faded photo. New front stripe together with interestingly and boldly accented new LED headlights brings a lot to the image of this vehicle. The rear lights com- plement and close provided lines, giving the body weightlessness which pleases the eye. It is worth mentioning that the interior underwent only cos- metic modifications, remaining its high level of ergonomics and fitting. The materials which were used for finishing the respective elements make an impression of more pleasing and improved quality than in the previous version. To the whole is add- ed a typically Japanese attitude towards designing utility forms. We reach Warsaw late in the evening in the streams of torrential. The city, as usually at this time, surrounds us with a colorful and noisy traffic jam. Time spent with Mitsubishi Outlander convinces us that a marketing category of the SUV vehicles already belongs to the past. Light, city off- road cars became an inseparable part of a land- scape of our town many years ago, fulfilling various expectations of a great deal of drivers. Today it is clearly visible a tendency to give new personalities to the boxy, highly suspended with poor (or nearly none) off-road capabilities SUVs. The new Outlander is nearer to an efficient, functional hatchback with a surprisingly good off-road capabilities with a sporty attitude (we have checked it up) than to a typical SUV, pretending an off-road tough guy. The Japanese perfectly mastered how to implement the following maxim: "form follows function". In the case of the new Mitsubishi Outlander it works. It ceased to pretend and began to be itself, and even gained an expressive personality. And what is the most important – it works efficiently. Period. We like it. www.fragoutmag.com
