"The Storming of the Palace" is an extreme event for all who are bored with running on the flat. The participants have a task to run up the stairs on the 31th floor of the Palace of Culture and Science which is tallest building in Poland. Each competitor must be wear military uniform, combat boots, load bearing gear and a rifle replica (due the regulations). An additional impediment is a min. 5Kg load in the gear (e.g. water). The first edition of this event took place on 23th January 2016. At the starting line appeared 25 daredevils: soldiers, policemen, students of the Military University of Technology, pupils from the military classes and members of the paramilitary organizations. They came from all around Poland. The best completed the distance in the same time as the winners of the similar events organized in the same place who run without a load and dressed in the sportswear. The winners were: Łukasz Nowakowski with a time of 4 min 46 sec. and Sebastian Palecki with a result 4 min 49 sec. Additionally was also awarded a contestant, who upon his own request, almost two-fold exceeded a load bearing weight limit – Jerzy Rozciecha. The further edition of this event will be held next year, but we advise to begin preparations soon. www.fragoutmag.com
