REPORT day 2 today we will take photos. it will be a photo coverage from the first team mountain trekking with the survival ele- ments which will be crowned by an overnight stay in the forest. did i write it down? yeah, i, a "city rat", am supposed to overnight in the bieszczady mountains. in the forest. in the winter. on the snow. take it easy, i will get along. everything looks beautifully, but a next level is added – nights spent in the forest at the temperatures from minus 10°c to minus 12°c. no f@#$ing way! for the time being i put on a brave face. i will help the boys with preparing a camp and then i will come back to the silent valley hostel – in total it is near – just a few kilometers of the night march in the death - like stillness. thank heaven, it is supposed to be a moonlight, bright night – light will do itself and it will not be so deucedly dark. in order to scare away the wolves (!), i have at my disposal my voice and fast legs. i wonder what i will have to use … we hit the road. the morrow in bieszczady welcomed us with the wonderful sun and a pleasant frost of several degree severity, what in conjunction with so unprecedented in our country during the last few years atmospheric phenomenon, which is (real!!!) snow, puts us in a good mood. we have a lot of tasks connected with conducting tests of our equipment and taking photos. all the day long i was working with one lens and i am delighted with this work ergonomics. a pro-level canon 100–400mm f/4.5-5.6lis l lens with an image stabilization did well in the open-air photographic session. a very quick and precise af unmistakably focused in the difficult lighting conditions such as the full sun combined with a great amount of snow. white on white, the full sun, clear blue sky and only 3-4 overshot (read – not sharp) photos. an excellent result as for 400 pics, among which a significant part constituted dynamic ones.
