The watch has a memory module that allows saving and displaying up to 40 measurements consisting of altitude, pressure, temperature, and the time and date of the measurement. Moreover, thanks to Wave Ceptor Radio Controls system, we are able to use the database of sunrises and sunsets. After a manual input of the latitude, we will get accurate hours at which the sun will travel through the horizon in the place we are currently at. Of course, Rangeman GW-9400 3RE also features functions of a regular chronometer, such as timer, stopwatch, alarm function in five „versions", and the snooze mode. The range of possibilities that we have access to during everyday usage of the watch is very impressive. It perfectly classifies the watch within the area of interest of people with active lifestyle, as well as professionals who need reliability, durability, resistance to the most difficult environmental conditions. iMPRESSionS For several months, I have had the pleasure to use and test Rangeman GW-9400 3RE . The watch was sent to me in an original box – a classic cardboard box contained, apart from the warranty card and a multilingual manual (thick as a miniature version of a phone book for some capital city), contains a hexagonal, relatively short steel can with the logo of G-Shock, as well as elegant sings „SHOCK RESISTANT" and „WATER RESISTANT 20 BAR". Here you go, that is a very clear declaration on what the product is. The can is filled with firm protective foam and the watch is placed in an oval opening – just as if it was a vulnerable and delicate piece of jewelry, not the capo di tutti capi of the G series. The everyday use of functions of the watch is easy and almost intuitive thanks to the great ergonomics of large, cylindrical metal buttons finished with corrugating on the flat surface. The buttons work with a pleasant, characteristic resistance typical for devices secured against water under pressure. The corrugating is also palpable through regular tactical gloves (I have experienced that several times at a shooting range). The vivid, yellow descriptions embossed in the body perfectly contrast with the khaki green color. The branding text is painted black and smoothly blend in the curvature of the body. the readability of the three-section display – my watch is in the "negative display" version – is quite good. With just one glance, we are able to check the time, time zone, date, and weekday. In the active mode, the display is illuminated with blue light. the cons concerning the readability of the display appear during a sunny day or in a bright room: in such light, the display is hardly readable. The pale yellow digits and letter weakly contrast with the inactive area of the display – here, the display in the regular (positive) configuration is far better. The visibility of the indication on the display, when in passive mode, is possible within the range of about 45° from the axis perpendicular to the display and that would be only when light falls onto it. When it comes to night and dark rooms, it is even worse. Without the back-light, you see nothing. I must admit that it was quite frustrating for me during the first days of usage, because I was not able to see such a basic piece of information as the current hour. The solution to that issue was to set the back-light of the watch trigger automatically when the watch was raised to the eye or when poor light conditions were sensed. Still, that solution very often did not work EDC
